Overwhelming!

Friends,
Thank you SO much for your willingness to help us get to Africa! We are so thankful for you, and are certain that these blessings are coming straight from our Father! It is such an awesome experience to go boldly before  Him, asking for $4000, and being able to blatantly see that need being met!  We give all of the glory to Him! Thank you for listening to Him, and being a blessing to us!

Last weekend we had a HUGE garage sale! So many people contributed, and we had horse trailers full of couches, home decor, clothes, and everything else rolling into the church parking lot! (Shout out to Cornerstone Baptist Church for letting us use the facility!) Let me tell you something...garage sales are so much work! We could have never done it without our parents, siblings and friends being there to help unload, move stuff around, and then load everything back up! On top of all of that, I never heard one of them complain! It was hot, a lot of physical labor, and they used their Saturday to help us. Major blessings are going to be poured out on those angels!
Our sale went so wonderfully! We made about $1,300 to be split between us! We were super excited and are thankful the Lord brought people in to buy our stuff!

Financially, we only need about $1,000 each to be fully funded!  We are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel! Looking for ways to be a blessing?? Or maybe you need a tax write-off??? Let me give you some suggestions:
1. Buy a ticket for our IPad giveaway! $10 for your name to be entered once. You can pay online by going to www.visitingorphans.org and clicking "Donate" and enter "Trish Yocum" or "Galilee Webb" in the team member box!! Or you can pay us in person!
2. Call us/Write us to come clean your house (Trish is doing that right now!), pull your weeds, babysit your kids, help plan birthday parties or date nights, tap-dance for you (hahaha. dont do this one!!) or anything else! We are willing to work!!
3. You can always make a tax-deductible donation by going to www.visitingorphans.org and clicking "Donate" and enter "Trish Yocum" or "Galilee Webb" in the team member box!!

We have a little less than a month until we are in Africa! We are confident that God will provide, and we are thanking Him in advance! Pictures from our garage sale to come :) Love you all!

Brush Country Blessed

With the trip a little over a month away, Galilee and I cannot begin to explain how excited we are. It is crunch time and we have been in prayer over how to raise the remainder of the funds. The Lord sure does listen. A couple Sundays ago, I had the privilege to speak to my church about the mission trip. With the help of my wonderful mama and dad, we made cute little homemade Africa sugar cookies to spread the mission trip cheer. The Brush Country Cowboy Church in George West, Texas sure did step up. I am blessed to say that my church welcomed our opportunity with open arms, kind hearts, and wonderful generosity.

Deuteronomy states, "Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to." Galilee and I pray that blessings will be in the hands of those that gave not only materially, but spiritually as well.

We would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone that will be praying for our journey. It was an amazing experience to talk to other members of our congregation that have been on mission trips. You can never have too many little tid bits of advice about going overseas! We would like to continue to ask our friends, family and community to keep us in your prayers as we prepare our hearts, minds and bodies to be the best they can be for these babies. We just cannot believe in one month and nine days we will be holding these babies!!!!!

Keep in mind, we will be having a community wide garage sale June 2nd at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Alice, Texas. If you have some unwanted items, let Galilee or I know and we will be more than happy to pick them up. Also, come over early that Saturday to find yourself some treasure!!! The garage sale will begin at 8:00 in the morning, but warning there are plenty of early birds out there!!!
Love,
Trish and Gal

Shoty!

After some seriously hard work hunting down someone who would give us our shots, I (Galilee) finally got 2 of them! We called every place in Alice and several other cities looking for someone who gave Yellow Fever and Typhoid Vaccinations, and we got responses such as, "What's yellow fever?" and "We don't give vaccinations here!" ...What do you mean you don't give vaccinations?! Online it says you give yellow fever! "Oh, well....you had to say yellow fever!" Isn't that a vaccination?! "Well...yes."  Oh my goodness!!! We also heard "Someone will call you back and let you know" about 50 times! But...we think it's all figured out! Praise the Lord! I never thought I would want a shot so badly in my whole life!!
{2 down, 2 to go!}

Now, hopefully Trish will be able to go next week and get hers! Thank you all for keeping every detail (even our expensive, hard to get immunizations!) in your prayers! We love y'all!

Trash? Psshh...treasure!!

We are blessed!! We have had two garage sales to help us raise funds for Africa, and both of them have been so successful! We were blown away by the generosity of our friends and family! The Lord took "trash" (meaning, items that people did not want anymore) and multiplied, multiplied, multiplied! We would look around our sale after a few hours and lots of customers and it didn't look like anything was missing! When we counted our money at the end of the day, we were in awe! The Lord is faithful. Faithful to provide financially, but also faithful to just be Him. As we continue to prepare for our trip, we continue to see the Lord's hand so clearly in every detail. If you have been a part of our garage sales, thank you, thank you, thank you! If you would like to take part in our garage sale adventures, don't worry...there's still opportunity! Haha.  Save your stuff for our June garage sale! We would love you even more dearly than we do now! :)

Peace, Love, & African Babies!!! :)

Trish and Gal

Welcome!

Hey Everyone! We made this blog to keep everyone informed about our first overseas mission trip to Africa in July! Words cannot even begin to describe how excited we are...honestly! If you know either of us, you know we've got big love for babies!  The Lord has placed in front of us this wonderful opportunity, and we are following His leading. We ask, above everything else, that you keep us in your prayers! As this is our first trip to Africa, we are nervous, excited, anxious, and just so grateful!
